Creek Fly Fishing Reels
Rooted in Tradition . . . Machined for Tomorrow
Abel Creek model reels are rooted in the
grand tradition of angling in the world's spring creeks. From the chalk
streams of Great Britain to the storied waters of Pennsylvania, Montana,
California and Canada, Abel Creeks are the definitive answer to tiny
flies, featherweight rods, and wary fish.
The Abel Creek models #1 and #2 are machine
ported (ventilated) for the lightness required to balance with a smaller
rod. Whether you choose to mount an Abel Creek on a cane or graphite
rod, it will look and behave magnificently.
These are large diameter, narrow spool reels. Line is in larger coils,
thus reducing kinking while, at the same time, retrieving substantially
more line with each turn of the reel handle.
Abel Creeks are machined from a single block of prime aircraft-quality
aluminum, then anodized to perfection in either Black CoralTM or our
matte black Guide's FinishTM. Reels are fitted with a custom rosewood
handle and cap plug. And when you open an Abel Creek, you'll see its
heart and soul . . . a click/pawl drag system with two fully-enclosed
internally adjusted hex nuts - a system that allows for virtually unlimited
choices for both incoming and outgoing drag and line over-run.
