Tremendous hatches of caddis, blue wing olives, tricos, and pale morning duns provide the Missouri's wild trout with the nutrition necessary to become quite large and strong. Rainbow and brown trout average between 15" - 17", but many grow to the 22"+ class. There are lots of them - over 4,000 per mile. Stalking the Missouri's free-rising trout in flat water with tiny dry flies is both challenging and rewarding. It's the champagne of fly fishing. It's what the Missouri is all about.
