Drift Boat Rentals

Known as one of the largest spring creeks in world, the Missouri River is very user friendly.  Navigation is easy.  Although the Mighty Mo has excellent public wading access, drifting the river provides maximum fishing efficiency. Just pick up the anchor and float to the next pod of rising fish.

When you rent a boat from The Trout Shop, your life is made easy. Launching and retrieving your rental boat is a regular part of our service. Our shuttle service will move your personal vehicle to your take out so it is there waiting for you at the end of your trip. If you depart or take out in Craig, MT, we will provide your shuttle free of charge.*

Taking out in Craig is ideal for our lodge guests. Get out of your rental boat, gather your gear, and walk across the street to your room at the The Trout Shop's Lodge. Kick back and relax before you enjoy a delicious dinner. While you're unwinding, we'll get your boat ready for its next voyage.

The Trout Shop rents new 16' Low Profile Clackacraft and RO Deville Drift Boats. At each year's end, we clear out our old rental boat inventory and replace it with new boats the following year.  Your boat includes form, function, and modern comfort. 

Clackacraft 16' Low Profile

Originally designed for Professional Outfitters and Guides, the 16LP has quickly became the preferred drift boat of the occasional weekend warrior as well as the hard core guys who fish 100 days per year. They all have one thing in common; they demand a great rowing, fisherman friendly and spacious drift boat, and that is exactly what describes the ClackaCraft 16LP. 

The Low Profile offers many advantages for the angler: the lower sides make the boat easier to row in windy conditions, ease in getting in and out of, and provides a better field of view and visibility for the oarsman. Designed to be the “Ultimate Fly Fishing Drift Boat”, the 16LP is equipped with all the features ever needed in a working boat.

RO Deville
When you can get a 16 foot drift boat to weigh 300 pounds and float  in 4 inches of water without losing any space, safety or dry storage you have the perfect Rocky Mountain fly fishing vessel. The Ro Deville has the traditional flexible concave bottom with Chine to Chine tracking as well as rounded and flared chines to lift the boat off of the water and make it ride higher than any other drift boat ever conceived.
