Craig Mercantile Deli

When the Bulington Northern Railroad found its way to Craig in 1898, a new business arose and helped serve the Missouri River Canyon residents' needs - Craig Mercantile Company. The original Craig Mercantile Company was located in what is today's Trout Shop Lodge. Today, it's located just inside The Trout Shop's doors two blocks to the west.

At its inception, Craig Mercantile sold Peter Schuttler covered wagons and building materials. Today, things are a little different. Times have changed, but the spirit of Craig Mercantile Company lives on. Fly fishing goods and services dominate the menu.

Time is a virtue. We know that you want to be on the river from the moment you turn off the Craig Exit. You can taste the river from there. It's only two blocks to the east. The first stop in town is The Trout Shop. Take your first right or look for the lot with an uncanny amount of drift boats.
