Dave Bloom
Dave was born and raised in Great Falls Montana. He has spent his life fishing the waters surrounding Great Falls. The Missouri has always been the river that has captured his imagination and he has studied it intently since he began fishing there in 1971. When he started guiding in 1985, the Missouri had yet to be discovered by the fishing magazines and was held as a closely guarded secret by the few outfitters that fished it. He cut his guiding teeth in Idaho on the Henry’s Fork, South Fork and the Teton. He moved North and closer to home in 1995 when he guided on the rivers of Yellowstone Park and the famous Montana rivers around West Yellowstone. Since then he has been guiding on the Missouri in the summer and the rivers of southern Chile and Argentina in the winter. He has learned from the diverse rivers that he has plied and the diverse cast of characters that plied the rivers with him. Dave is also a nationally recognized fly-tier and his patterns are produced and sold by Idylwilde Flies. Dave is well rounded with his skills and can find fish anywhere they reside.
