Craig is Buzzing
For awhile, it seemed like the fishing season was over. Mid week, the boat ramps were not packed, fly shops were only so-so busy, the bars were quiet, and the restaurants were either closed or busy for an hour or two.
It's amazing what happens when the bugs start popping and the fish start looking up. If our current weather pattern was prevailing in Florida, we'd see a sudden lack of tourism. We're not in Florida and we're very happy to see the cool weather - for the fishing and the fun. Craig is busy again.
The Missouri holds at least a solid month of what promises to be epic dry fly fishing. Big browns and rainbows on streamers will be commonly shared amongst friends. It won't be long before you are thinking seriously about other recreational opportunities - hunting, skiing, and saltwater fly fishing. If your're fishing the Missouri, you will be focused upon the trout within. It's really good. Save your future recreation dreams for winter (which we hope is bitter bitter cold - the mountain pine beetle is wreaking some serious havoc on our pine trees). It's definitely time to fish the Mo.
