This modern bait hook was developed as a cross between a wide-gape hook and a circle hook having elements of each in its design. Many saltwater fishing experts swear by the positive hooking ability of circle hooks for billfish and tarpon and many fly tiers and fly fishers are experimenting by tying flies on this style hook.
