Florida bonefish are normally found in deeper waters of two to four feet. With the 9 ft clear sinking AquaLux® intermediate tip, you will get your fly down to the bonefish. The line features the RIO Powerflex core and Clouser taper and is the line of choice when the wind is blowing (which is almost all the time). Wonderful to cast into a fifteen-knot breeze. Sounds unbelievable, but this line will turn over a 12 ft - 15 ft leader in a strong wind. A 9 ft leader attached to the clear AquaLux tip gives you an effective 18 foot leader, which is stealthy enough for any big Florida bone. Your guide can still follow the fly at this length, while a totally clear line is really tough to track.

The choice of Florida captains. With a short, forward taper and a hard, smooth coating on a stiff single strand monofilament core, RIO's tarpon fly lines can cast heavy tarpon flies long distances with improved accuracy and great turnover. Total head length varies from 36 ft - 40 ft (11 m - 12.3 m). Available as a floating line, a floating line with a 9 ft AquaLux® intermediate sinking tip or green tint full intermediate with a 9.5 ft AquaLux tip (1.5 ips .7 cm/s). The sinking tip and full intermediate lines feature the same taper as the Clouser line.The intermediate tip has no loops or joints and is very useful, because unlike a full intermediate fly line, the angler can roll cast once to break the line loose, back cast, and get a second shot at the tarpon. F/I line is the line of choice to get under the floating grass to prevent weeds from fouling the fly. The F/I line is also the best tarpon line in extreme wind. Hard tropical coating on single strand monofilament core.
