The Trout Shop's Lodge
You
will always find the welcome mat out at our historical setting. Built
on Lot 1, Block 1, County of Lewis & Clark, our lodge resides in the
oldest building in Craig Montana. Originally the Craig Mercantile Company,
and later the local Post Office, our facility has had many uses since
it was built in 1887. At one time, the Great Northern Railroad would
frequently stop in front of our lodge to take on water while fueling
its steam engines. In 1916, tragedy struck and the building partially
burned. Soon afterwards, it was rebuilt and continued with its tradition.
Join us in our cafe and share in our history while reading the narratives
contained within many of the historical pictures decorating our walls.
Many of our customers will concede the building has never been rebuilt
as claimed in 1916. We are constantly molding our facility to provide
for your modern fishing times while striving to maintain our tradition.
Today, you will find our facility neat, clean, comfortable, fun, and
most importantly.....only a few steps from the Missouri's wild rainbow
trout.
Spoil yourself in our studio apartment, private rooms, or comfortable
bedrooms. Regardless of which room you stay in, you will receive the
same courteous service. Expect to come home to a clean, relaxing, and enjoyable
environment.
All rooms come equipped with two beds, satellite television, air conditioning, apartment-sized refrigerator, and coffee maker. Private baths are found in the studio apartment and private rooms. Our studio apartment is equipped with a small kitchen. Three lodge bedrooms share 2 full baths that are kept very clean. Daily maid service is provided. The river is so close you can taste it.
